Thanks for the reply Cathi, Gerald is my great grandfather who died in the sixties. He played as an All Black around 1915. He was also captain of the garrison with the disapearing gun where the Albatross colony is. He was married to Bertha Winfred Tarlton who died in 1989 at the ripe old age of 101. They had four children, Douglas, Allan, William(my granfather) and Jean. My grandfather and grandmother lived in Ashburton around the 50`s then moved to Timaru there after. I myself live in Australia after my father migrated her 37 years ago.
If this sheds any light let me know. I am new at this genealogy so if you can steer me to some areas that hold information that would be great.
