I am researching the McKellar family on the Isle of Bute.
My g-grandmother was Peterina McKellar married to John Hall and daughter of Neil McKellar and Helen Hutson.
(My Hutson family moved to Bute sometime between 1820 and 1825 from Douglas.)
Neil McKellar was son of Ellar McKellar and Ann McAlpine.(only child)
Ellar was son of Peter/Patrick McKellar and Mary McLean.
Peter/Patrick was son of Peter McKellar and Mary ?
I would like to fill in the different branches, find out where the family originally came from and maybe contact McKellars still living on the island.
