I am not directly related but a John Mckever (sp) found on the 1790 Southwark, Philadelphia, PA census is living next door to my ancestor, Joseph Gamble. Joseph's wife, Mary Flower, had a sister, Jemina, who married a John McKeever (sp) 5/15/1779, Swedes' Church (Gloria Dei) Philadelphia, PA. I found Jemina McKeever living at same address as a widow. (Source:The Philadelphia Directory & Strangerís Guide for 1825, page 91; Philadelphia, PA (Rootsweb)
Isaac McKeever married Mary Flower Gamble, who is a grand daughter of this Joseph. Her father was also a Joseph. (DAR records).
Isaac was born 4/6/1794, died 4/1/1856 in Portsmouth, VA.
Not sure if Isaac was one of this John Mckever"s sons. The McKeevers and Gambles seem to be intertwined.
Found a John McKeever who came over on a British ship to PA in 1772 & 1773. Port of Origin: Britian, mostly Ireland. Is this the same John??
Also found a website, that I am trying to find again, that stated Isaac McKeever had Scot ancestry. Hope this helps anyone that is searching.
