Mary McKeen and Alexander Miller c 1820 , Ballymena IRELAND
My gggg grandfather was Alexander Miller, husband of Margaret McKeen. Looking for any further info on Mary McKeen and her family, as well as Alexander and his family.Their son James Alexander Miller was born in 4/21/1823 in Ballymena.James, aged 21, sailed from Londonderry, Ireland on the ship "Provincialist", and arrived in Philadelphia on June 25th 1844.
James was the Captain in the Mexican war, promoted to Colonel in the Civil War. He was killed at the battle of Fair Oaks outside Richmond on May 31st, 1862. Margaret's nephew Hugh Boyd McKeen also fought in the CW and died at Gettysburg. Alexander, Margaret, and James emigrated to the US in the 1840's, arriving in Philadelphia from Ballymena. The family lived in Mauch Chunk PA, now Jim Thorpe, and later in Easton.
We know nothing more about this part of our family.
