My paternal grandmother Martha McKee who died in 1947 said members of our family were followers of William Wallace. I don't know whether she meant the McKee side or from her family. Her mother's maiden name was Martha Wallace, so it could have come from either side. She also said a member of our family carried Sir John Moore from the field at the Battle of Corunna in Spain - then again I don't know which family.
