Hello. I saw your posting of July 2012 concerning McKees in early Armstrong County and wondered if could help me. I am looking for a McKee who lived in Armstrong County (or in Westmoreland County before Armstrong County was formed). His name may have been Thomas or William and he died some time in the 1825 -1828 timeframe. He would have been married to a Jane McCauley and had a son named William McKee born in 1825. This William McKee is my great great grandfather.

There is a family tradition that 4 McKee brothers came from Ireland and settled in western PA. William's father was one of them and he worked in or owned a salt mine in the Saltsburg area.

I was wondering if you might have some information on these McKee brothers and their descendants that might fit this. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Kathryn McKee Davis
