Did he have a brother named Alexander? My 4x great-grandmother was Martha Mackey (various spellings...McKee, MacKay, Mcahay) who married Andrew Grant in Rutherford County, NC. Her father was Alexander Mackey, born in 1718 in Albemarle County, VA and married Susannah Lewis. Alexander's will is dated 23 Feb 1793 and he is listed as having served in the Revolutionary War.
