and,

FROM THE BOOK OF MCKEE:

On page 86: The author quotes a letter dtd April 1 1954 that says it is from a Harriet Hooper of Castle Rock WA whose father was John Henry McKee w/brothers Joel, James, Frank, Edward. Says "Ed used to work the mines at Joplin MO".

On pg 107: A letter from a D C McKee pres /general mgr of Empire Dist Electric Co, Joplin dtd 7-29-1954 says his father was Harry Butler McKee of Charlottesville Illinois.

On page213: The author, Raymond W. McKee, says his father was Charles Edward McKee 12-14-1872//2-18-1924....................

On page217: (also, page 218) He is saying he is descended from Wm McKee and Cassander Frakes McKee thru

Henry McKee 1821-1880 married Harriet Matheny Jan 22 1843 who died 8-31-1844
and Henry then married Mary Moore March 10 1849

and their youngest child, Charles Edward McKee was the father of the author.

The author goes on to say "Harriet McKee (Finch), the author's well beloved aunt, died at Joplin MO in 1927.

He also says his father is buried in Joplin.

Those are the Joplin listed in the Index. When you find your grandfather's copy I would love to hear the connection. I have looked for my Ambrose and your Ambrose to have a connection and fail to find any info at Joplin. It may be there is kinship before they came to America.

Do you have any male McKee that would do the YDNA Test for you at Family Tree DNA?

END OF PASTED MESSAGE

David, If this is not your line, let me know and I will look again. It seems close but may not be the same.

Linda McKee
