Hi, William! I have found out some more...might be helpful to you in your search. My grandfather, John Homer McKee, was born 9/28/1904 in Dallas and died 4/10/1997 in Alamogordo NM. His father was John Claude McKee born 12/10/1877 in Texas and died 7/27/1958 in Dallas. He might have been born in Fate in Rockwall Co. John Claude's parents were Joseph McKee born 12/24/1842 in PA and died 3/3/1925 in Garland TX and Caroline Corcorine born 11/16/1850 in KY and died 5/2/1936 in Garland TX. Another tree on has a picture of Joseph and a house belonging to him, possibly in Fate, TX.
My grandfather's mother was Mary Martha Modawell born 1/9/1884 in Rockwall TX and died 11/10/1969 in Dallas, TX. Her father was John William Modawell born 12/5/1856 in Alabama and died 2/1/1893 in Fate, Rockwall, TX. Her mother was Mary Elizabeth King born 7/10/1856 in Brazos and died 2/24/1940 in Dallas.
John William Modawell's father was William Edward Modawell born 1819 in KY died 10/16/1880 in Robertson TX. His mother was Martha Lnu born 1820 in NC and died 1880 in Robertson.
Mary Elizabeth King's father was William Randolph King, Jr. born 1823 in Tenn. and died 1894 in Brazos TX. Her mother was Elizabeth Parilee Bowman born 1830 in Brazos and died 1885 in Limestone.
The earlier generations have come from various family trees so I don't have any paper work on them. I used to have a good contact for Modawell family info...I will see if I can find it.
