I am a little confused. The grave site of John McKee at Versailles Cemetery clearly states that he was the founder of Mckeesport. Old records state Alexander McKee was the founder of McKees Rocks. Although, I thought McKees Rocks was named for James McKee who was married to a Native American. One interesting point is I found a old record that Dr Brunot of Brunot's Island McKees Rocks was related to General Lafayette. Meriwether Lewis visited Dr Brunot just after he pick up his new boat at Ft Lafayette Aug 31 1803. The Heinz History Center confirms that Dr Brunot was related to General Lafayette. I have reason to believe that General Lafayette and Alexander Hamilton had relatives buried at Versailles Cemetery. I have 100's of pictures of Versailles Cemetery and cross referencing everyone. My question is who are the Sinclair Stewart Bruce and Wolfe families who are buried together. Who is this Elizabeth McKee married to Samuel Sinclair? They had a son named HB Sinclair. I believe he was a banker in McKeesport. Samuel and Elizabeth McKee Sinclair and their son HB Sinclair are buried in section E lot 35. Then who is this guy named Lewis N Clark? So yes there are a lot of questions and I think the answer lays with a guy named Gouverneur Morris and his friend Robert Morris. Gouverneur Morris was Thomas Jefferson's Ambassador to France at Versailles at the time of the French Revolution. Thomas Jefferson also had a close friend in Pittsburgh and his name was Meriwether Lewis. Notify Administrator about this message?
