A few years ago I received copies of letters that John McKee Sharpe wrote to folks about his ancestors. These were copies of his original work, not transcripts, and were from his collection that was donated after his death.

He comments in several documents that Archibald McKee (of Lincoln Co TN) and Thomas Jefferson McKee were TWO people NOT ONE.

This Thomas Jefferson McKee had his own family and migrated all the way into Texas and I haven't seen any claims about this Thomas Jefferson McKee family that I can recall. Probably lots of researchers out there looking for this person and don't even know he existed.

Perhaps these documents were mistaken or for some other reason this information has not been brought out into the light of current research.

The JOHN MCKEE SHARPE PAPERS are held in the Southern Historical Collection, Manuscripts Department, Wilson Library, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

This family has many more descendants than have been found. Their story remains to be told.
