Diane,

Is you husband's Grandmother still living? If so please ask her if William Allen was indeed born in KY.

All of the research I have done for some 45+ years, shows that he was born in GA. in 1809, one year after my Wiley Thomas was born in GA.

MY Wiley Thomas McKee, William's Brother was already in Choctaw, MS. in 1840, and then in Chickasaw Co., MS in 1850.

I have William Allen in the 1840 Census in Meriweather Co., GA. living next door to Thomas McKee and John W. McKee apparently across the road.

Then I show William Allen in the 1850 Census in Chickasaw Co., MS. with Sarah and children. This Census states he was born in GA.

Also, the first child listed is a John W. I was looking at Alexander as the boy's father for a long time like you, until I went to the 1810 and 1820 Census records and the ages of the boys didn't match. Since I found this Census with John W. living across the road, and knowing that YOUR Wiley Thomas has a Son John William, I am going to start researching for a John McKee and see if that may be the father of the 4 boys I listed in my first post, and I am starting in Meriweather Co., GA.
Wish me (us) luck. I'll keep you posted.
Sharron
