I understand the FTDNA projece was so well received that it has been extended past the Aug 31 date. Not sure how long.
The reasoning for the DNA testing is if your line is DNA checked and another persons is Checked And you relate it will prove both of your lines to the common ancestor. Hope this makes sense.
I have a McKee grandmother so I am not a DNA canid. If you as a male McKee or a female with a male sibling or cousin that is a McKeethat you could have YDNA tested it could prove you McKee line to someone elses line to a possible immigrant. I would recomend at least a 37 marker count DNA test.
I am a canidate for a HASH DNA testing, My Hash married into the McKee line. My Great Grandfather was Thomas Jefferson McKee b.1814 and is from Chester Co. South Carolina.
