Hello Mellisa, I am so happy to have you reply to this COMPOSITE of other folks' earlier posts on the GENFORUM MCKEE Board. Your response exactly proves my goal in posting these messages I have lately posted - in the beginning of online research so much has been posted with so little proven information and so much of the older posted data has been shown to be in error when later extracted official documents become public and more folks, such as yourself-a direct descendant-come online and begin to research their direct lines. I think a composite, in this case, is easier to study than trying to piece together one thread of messages and make sense out of all the given information. My ambition here is to bring all these MCKEE folks out to the public light where each one can be given the correct descendants and the migration path can be better identified. My research interest has not been in Orange Co NC to date but lately in the study of the Rockbridge Co and Augusta Co and Frederick Co Virginia area where a number of McKee lines settled upon leaving early PA-MD-NJ area. You may have seen where mid-1700 era Alexander McKee of Orange Co NC has been posted as being a child of one of the Rockbridge area McKee lines along with his wife Mary Bean. Information on these folks is very difficult to locate. So if we can inspire today's McKee descendants to post we might find better and more factual information and additional McKee brothers and sisters to complete our family history. If you go back and look at the composite perhaps you can add to correcting the data that has been posted in error by earlier folks who were without access to our currect databases (including myself). Again, thanks for your post. Linda McKee Notify Administrator about this message?
