Just beginning research on my McKee family and would like to make some connections with other researchers for info and ideas. My maternal Grandmother Allie Mae McKee born 1897, Grant Co, OK (Oklahoma Territory), daugher of John H. McKee and Nancy Bell Jones; John H. McKee, born 1857, Franklin Co, MO, son of James D. (Dickson or Dixon) McKee and Mary Jane Jennings. James D. McKee, born 1833, probably in Owen Co, IN (his father James R. McKee bought land in Owen Co in mid 1830s), son of James R. McKee and Elizabeth UNKNOWN, possibly Dickson or Dixon. James R. McKee,s 1809 birth indicated as NC on two census reports and VA on one. His wife Elizabeth born 1807, SC. Any assistance in determing how James R. McKee got to Indiana from his birth in NC or VA; his parents, siblings; when and where he married Elizabeth; and Elizabeth's maiden name would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. - Stan Reed
