Hi Winnie, Thanks for the reply. Recently a friend from the DAR shared the following with me.
Pasted:..........searched for Daniel McKee and found two.
#1 was born 1748 in VA and died 1818 in Edgefield Dist. SC. He served as a private in Brandon's Regt.
#2 was born 1759 Lunenberg Co. VA and died 1839 in Lafayette Co., MS. His wife was Frances Herndon and he rec'd a pension #SR6750V. It also said he furnished a substitute for part of the war. End of Paste
I haven't found any link with my known Mecklenburg Co NC vicinity McKee but the spelling of the surname is freely changed so it is possible that the surnames in your post are actually this Daniel McKee mentioned above. Perhaps the info will help other searchers.
Thanks. Happy Holidays. Linda McKee

I posted the above on another boarda couple of weeks ago in response to posts by Winnie. We are interested in information about the two Daniel McKee listed above. The two different Daniel may or may not be related. The surname spelling varies from document to document.I believe at one time the #2 above listed Daniel resided at Marshall Co MS or, at least, his widow Francis/Fannie resided there ca 1850 census. Both appear to have lived in SC pre-1800.
