Hi Mark

I am doing research on my riverboat family of Myers, McIntyre, Dunseith, Lewis and Powell. This family ran riverboats out of Mckeesport PA (Pitttsburgh)in the late 1700's. McKeesport was named after John McKee b1746 d1807. He was a ferryboat operator in Mckeeport also known as Queen Alliquippa Town.

These families seem to have relatives and connections to Georgia and the South Carolina area.

I have a record that a 45 year old Christopher Gist, a 22 year old George Washington and a 14 year old Jacob Myers all surveyors for the Ohio Company visited Queen Alliquippa at Queen Alliquippa Town Christmas Eve 1753.

Christopher Gist brother Thomas Gist married Susan Cockey. Their son Gen Mordecai Gist is buried near Charleston SC. I believe he fought along side Francis Marion and Harry Lighthorse Lee. Then Harry Lighthorse Lee was in charge of the troops that put down the Whiskey Rebellion in Pittsburgh in the fall of 1794.

I believe the McIntyre's and Mckee's are related in Pittsburgh as well as Georgia.

Do you have any info on a possible connection?
