I'm interested if anyone knows anything about a George Leslie McKee, white male, born Sept. 5, 1870 in Cynthiana, KY, died Jan. 25, 1944 in Memphis, TN. I have a copy of his death cert. and he died of acute coronary occlusion, buried in Forest Hill Cem. in Memphis. He worked as a clerk for Southern Trans. Co. in Memphis. His father was a James Wilson McKee born in Cynthiana, KY, mother was Jane Turney born in Cynthiana, KY. Since he was married when he died, his wife and informant was a Sarah L. McKee, address 3718 Poplar, Memphis.
The reason I'm asking about this person is I'm looking for the family of my Thomas B. McKee, b. c1864, census says Mississippi. I found his death record and he died Feb. 17, 1909 in Memphis of appendicitis but this is before death records gave the name of parents. I haven't been able to find my Thomas B. McKee with any McKee family in Miss. or Tenn. on the 1870 or 80 census. He married my Georgia Anna Jones on Jan. 13, 1887 in Memphis and they show up on the 1900 Shelby Co. TN census. They had several children but no one in the later generations seem to know anything about them and especially nothing about Thomas B. McKee. Georgia died in 1924 and they're both buried in Morning Sun Cem. in Cordova, TN.
I know this is a long shot but if you know anything about this George Leslie McKee and any other family he may have had in the Memphis area, please let me know, who knows, he may connect to my McKee's, many thanks, Kay.
