We have a connection, at least in location. My McKee family was in Franklin Co MO which borders Jefferson Co which is prominent in your message. They lived in Prairie Township and their Post Office address was Grubville, the same Post Office that served your McKees. Anyway, I haven't connected my family (James R. McKee, born NC 1809; wife Elizabeth ______, born SC 1807) to the other McKee families in the area as yet. But the location is a coincidence, and also, another coincidence, is that my 2G-Grandfather, the oldest son of James R. and Elizabeth, was born James Dixon McKee in Indiana in 1833. I noticed in your message that a couple of your McKees had Dixon as a their middle name and they came from SC. I have often suspicioned that Elizabeth_______, my 3G-Grandmother's maiden surname was DIXON, but haven't found any proof yet. Any help would be appreciated. If our families do connect, I can provide you with a lot of data from James R. down. Thanks, and good luck! - Stan Reed, stan.reed at yahoo.com
