I read with great interest your account of the migration of the early colonists into South Carolina and Georgia. I am researching a John McKee (there must be a million John McKees)and having read your account, there must be a connection with other McKees in South Carolina.

John McKee was born in South Carolina in 1793. His wife was named Martha. In 1850 census, he was living in Meriweather County with wife, Martha. His will lists two sons:William A. McKee,and Thomas S. Mckee, both born in South Carolina. According to Monroe County, Georgia marriage records, William A. McKee married there in 1835.

I have a will abstract of a Thomas Mckee dated 1796 in whic he names wife, Martha and sons: Thomas, William, John and James. Any help/advice/comments appreciated.

Have a good day!

Ernie Abel
