My great-great grandmother was born Jane McKee about 1796 in Belfast, Ireland. (Her obituary described her as "a native of Belfast.") She married about 1828 a flax miller named John Moore of Kilwaughter, Larne, Antrim, and they emigrated in 1837 with their children to Nichol Township, in what became Wellington County, Ontario. They were Presbyterians until the 1850s when they became Methodists. She died in 1880.
I deem it highly likely that she was a sister of John McKee 1791-1848 (wife Eleanor) of Garafraxa Twp., Dufferin Co., and of Archibald McKee (1794-1877) (wife Margaret) of Peel Twp., Wellington County -- but would like proof. Families emigrated in groups, in those days, and as the McKees seem to have come to the area before the Moores (many brothers and sisters came over there, too) it seems probable that they are siblings.
