I found this family in Penn, 1860 that could possibly be the one I am searching for: West Finlet Township, Washington County, Penn, Post Office, Dallas, Marshall County, VA: **Joseph McKee age 49, Farmer, b Penn, Eliza, 25, b Penn, **Daniel J, age 7, B Penn, Sarah M, age 5, b Penn, Mary I age 3 b Penn and Anna R. age 3/12 b Penn.
My husband, Clifford McGhee line is Joseph McGehee b abt 1809,Daniel McGee b 1842-1852, IL, son William McGhee, b 1892, MO and Cliff, b 1921, MO. Is anyone reading this related or know of this family?
Cliff has done the DNA test for the McGee group Administered by Dean McGee. We find that my husbands family are McGehees.
I hope you are looking at other spellings for the MCKEE SURNAME. There are McKee and McGee marriages in thelate 1800s in southeast Missouri. I know some of our McGhee uncles have had their last name spelled McGee, McGhie, McKee, Mcshey, and Magee. It makes the search hard, but it might be the only way we can find our ancestors.
I wonder, Is there a way that our separate DNA tests could be combined?
Elizabeth McGhee
