New McKee book in preparation

I hope to have my McKee genealogy ready for publication by the end of this calendar year. It traces the line of Samuel and Martha McKee who were married in Augusta County, VA, in 1762. Samuel died in Fayette County, KY, in 1813.

Samuel and Martha left sons William (married Rebecca Erwin), James (married Dorcas), David (married Jane Wallace), Samuel Jr. (married Nancy Shannon), Archibald (married Margaret Barr), and John (apparently died unmarried); and daughters Jane (married John Story), Elizabeth (married George Hunter), and Polly (unable to determine whether she married).

Many of the family settled in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee, then spread into Texas, Iowa, California, and eventually most of the other states. To the best of my knowledge, they were not in Ohio until one of Samuel's granddaughters, Martha Story Caughey, moved to Preble County around 1820. I've not been able to connnect this family with any McKees who were in Pennsylvania in the 18th or early 19th centuries.

I've posted queries to this and many other forums, but will still welcome word from folks who clain kinship with this family.
