I'm looking for any information on Donald (McDonald?) McKee and his wife Betsey Taylor. Betsey was born around 1819 in Gates County, NC. They had a daughter, Catherine Elmira McKee, born 1842 in Gates Co, who is my gggrandmother (my gggrandfather, James Henry Tuttle, was her second husband). I have information on Catherine and Henry's family but nothing on the Taylor line, and the only thing I have on the McKees is an old family story about being related to Rob Roy McGregor - and I've never been sure of the accuracy of it. The story goes that the name McKee (maybe even Mackey) was a maiden name and was used by a McGregor (male) who came to America. I can't remember what the relationship was supposed to be between this person and Rob Roy. Anyway, that's the story - does it ring a bell with anyone? Aside from that, does anyone have any information on Betsey's Taylor family or Donald's McKee family? I would appreciate any help at all. My email address is shegeek@geeksnet.com.
