ok in 1840 David would have been 66 or there abouts. According to my records by 1840 both Eli and Edmund were dead. Eli in 1834 and Edmund in 1838.
Son Joseph would have been 22. Not sure who George R. and James were, those names don't show up in my family tree for a generation on James, Samuel's first son was James Madison 1837. George Rider was Samuel's 9th child in 1858. One list I have lists Eli as being born in about 1809, Edmund about 1811 and the other list says unknown for Eli and Edmund. It kinda looks like he moved to the Town of Franklin, Union County, Indiana but was buried in Napolean, Jackson Township, Ripley County, Indiana.
From what I see of the births of Samuel's childern I would say they moved around a lot.
