Marcia, Presume you are still filling in details on Mckee,Carothers & Neelys in NC/SC.

If you go to Maps and look at southeast Charlotte NC, there is a McKee's Creek. Nearby is Hickory Grove Methodist Church. Adjacent to the Church is an old cemetery with some stone too old to read. The Church office has looked but can find no McKee members.

If you move southeat, there is now McKee's Road also running southeast along the Charlotte city limits. It is a county road the extends for several miles.

If you move west on the York Rd (HWY 40 could tie to Mckee Rd.) you enter the Steele Creek Community of Charlotte.(www.steelecreekresidemts.org) The Catawba River was dammed in 1904 to create Lake Wylie. This reservoir is the western boundry of Steele Creek. The old York Rd crosses the lake.

The current India Hook Community is situated at the southern end of Lake Wylie in York Co.SC. The town of York SC is west of India hook and Union Co SC is west of York.

All these locations lineup in general and is the locale for the early family settlers that we seek. There are likely old church and cemeteries site along this general route, some now under water.
