Searching for parentage of Alva (Alvin) McKee (bc 1831/32 OH, dc 10 Dec 1882 Independence, Hennepin Co, MN). Per the 1880 census, Alva's father and mother were born in NY. There is a Wesley McKee in the 1850 Delaware Co, OH census which could be significant since that is the name of Alva's only son. It is unknown when Alva McKee left OH and settled in MN, but he was present in Hennepin Co, MN by 1858.

Alva m1 before 1858 MN to Rocelia Almena Alger (b. 27 Jun 1842/43 poss. Lake Co, OH, d. aft. 12 Aug 1870-bef. 5 Jun 1880 Independence, Hennepin Co, MN), daughter of William Churchill Alger & Almena Smith. The Alger family had left Perry Dist, Lake Co, OH and settled in Minnetouka, Hennepin Co, MN sometime between 1851-1854.

Alva m2 bef. 5 Jun 1880 prob. Hennepin Co, MN to Anna J. __ (bc 1832 NH, dc 1928 poss. Hennepin Co, MN).

Children of Alva McKee & Rocelia Almena Alger: There were only two children. Since the daughter "Minnie" was likely named after the maternal grandmother, the only son Wesley could be named after a paternal grandfather.

1.       Minnie E. McKee       (bc 1858 prob. Hennepin Co, MN) prob. named after her mother and grandmother (Almena, nicknamed "Minnie")

2.       Wesley McKee       (b. 6 Sep 1860 Cottage Grove, Hennepin Co, MN, d. 14 May 1945 San Diego, CA)       m. 4 Mar 1883 Independence, Hennepin Co, MN to Susan Catherine Richards (b. 8 May 1860/63 E. Gwillimbury, Ontario, CAN, d. 19 Oct 1944 San Diego, CA). After the death of their two fathers, the family moved to Phoenix, AZ Terr, then to San Diego, CA.
