Samuel McKee, died Fayette Co, KY: who were his parents?
I've posted this before but will repost as maybe someone new to the forum can help me.
I'm working on family of Samuel and Martha McKee.Samuel died 1813 in Fayette County, KY.He and Martha were married in Augusta County, VA; he owned land near the Stone Church at present-day Fort Defiance before the family moved to Kentucky in the late 1780s/early 1790s. In Kentucky his property was a short distance northeast of the Walnut Hill Church now on the fringe of Lexington. I can't find who Samuel's parents were, nor when or where he was born. Can anyone help?
Some think Samuel was a son of "Pioneer William" McKee, whose brothers Robert and John's families are well traced, but I've never seen documentation on any child of "Pioneer William" except the son James who married Lydia Todd.
Samujel McKee's sons were William, James, David, Archibald, Samuel Jr., and John; his daughters were Jane, Elizabeth, and Polly (or Mary).I've been able to identify over 2800 direct descendants of Samuel McKee, but cannot find his parents.
