I'm not sure this is related. My ancestor was John McKee. He was born about 1825 in SC. I think I found him in Alabama in 1850 and 1860, but its a burned county. It's difficult to tell. I have not found him in 1870. He is in Kemper Co, Ms in 1880 as a widower (also a burned county). He later moved to Texas (in the 1890's). My information is scarce and mostly stories that were handed down. His daughters were said to have married Childers and Windhams. He is said to have 3 brothers; Luther, Robert and THomas Jefferson.
