I will keep this information on file, but it is not the same John McKee with a son Thomas. The line I'm searching is Thomas White McKee, son of John H. McKee and Josephine Craig. He was raised by an aunt in NYC after the death of his parents, where he attended the Collegiate School. He moved with his aunt to Michigan after she developed T.B. When he was 16 he ran away to serve in the Civil War.
He was a prisoner at Andersonville. At the close of the war he went back to Live in Saginaw Michigan where he died in 1900. He was a newspaper reporter. Thanks for sharing your line with me. They may stil connect up somewhere.
