That's great to learn that you have that tradition, June. I was in touch once with a Nancy Strait, of Goleta, California, who told me that Abigail Story, in her 80s in 1949 and a Fleming County McKee descendant, told her that 11 brothers and 4 sisters came over together.

Since you're a descendant of Gavin, through his son John, this is extra evidence to tie this family into the Rockbridge County, Virginia, McKees, who in turn were thought to be connected to the McKeesport McKees (as my greataunt said). It would be nice to hear other similar stories to the ones I first posted.
