I recently came across a posting to the Chester County, SCGenWeb Biographies while browsing in search of another family. It was entitled "Scotch-Irish Migrations with Rev. William Martin, Names of Passengers from Ireland". There was a lengthy list of Surnames, followed by the passenger lists of five ships which came to S. C. in 1772-3. These persons received land grants in the interior of S.C. There were McKees and Agnews among the passengers, namely John/Andrew Agnew, Robert McKee, James McKee, Samuel McKee, Thomas McKee (2), William McKee. I have not found time to research this yet, but the time frame would fit into the McKees who appeared in Pennsylvania in the 1770-80s; also some of the McKees who settled in Ala., Miss. They seemed to disappear from S.C. about the time they appeared in the other states. I do intend to research this when I get a moment, but if anyone can get any confirmation on the above, please post to this forum so others can benefit from your info. Thanks.
Ellen McKee Estes
