I am looking for ancestors of William Harrison McKee. According to his death certificate he was born in Lincoln Co. Kentucky on July 9, 1851 to John McKee & mother Unknown. He was married to Alice Ann Thomas in Union Star Missouri on July 9, 1879. W H McKee died on January 21, 1940 in Lind, Adams Co., Washington.

At least four children were born to the union.

Mary McKee born May 16 1880
Lucrtia McKee born August 30 1881
Anna Elizabeth McKee (my grandmother) born December 10, 1888
Helen Hunt McKee born December 8, 1900

He served the Confederate Army in the Civil War:

Residence not listed;
Enlisted on 10/1/1862 at Whitesburg, KY as a Private.
On 10/1/1862 he mustered into "I" Co. KY 13th Cavalry
(date and method of discharge not given)

Sources used by Historical Data Systems, Inc.: - Confederate Kentucky Volunteers War 1861-65
(c) Historical Data Systems, Inc. @ www.civilwardata.com

Federal census data shows the following:

1870 - Platte Township, Andrew County, Missouri, living with the Jeramiah Gifford family

1880 - Platte Township, Andrew County, Missouri, living with wife Alice Ann and daughter Mary.

1920 - Newland, Adams County, Washington, living with daughter Helen

I have not been able to tie him to the right John McKee family in Kentucky. All help would be greatly appreciated.
