I am searching for the parents of my gggg grandfather Ambrose McKee who lived in Mecklenburg Co. N.C. in 1779.His wife's name was Elenor, and he had three daughters and four sons. I came across an article that mentioned a family of ten or eleven McKee brothers who migrated to America in 1738 from London and settled in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.Three of the brothers, Robert, William and John went on to settle in Augusta County,VA abt 1750-1760, then KY and TN. There are many descendents. Does anyone have all the names of those eleven brothers and where they settled?Any information would be appreciated regarding the brothers and or Ambrose McKee of N.C.and his parents......
