Where did your William live? He would be about a year or so older than my Milton McKee who was born in Georgia and lived in Randolph and Clay county Alabama by 1850 and after. I saw a William McKee in Randolph County I believe either in 1850 or 1860, however, I have not made the family connection. William, Samuel and John are very common names in my line so it is very possible yours is connected. There is another McKee line that came through Georgia also which is descendants of Archibald McKee and is another possibility. You can email me directly at: and we can compare notes. Email me what you know about William and I'll see what I can come up with. Family records state my line is descended from the Pennsylvania McKee family that came from Northern Ireland in the 1730s.

Good luck and hope to hear from you.
