I based my query on this.

My ggGrandfather William Barton (1 Jan 1788/ Va. - 4 Aug 1852/Larissa,Cherokee Co., Tx). He too came to Larissa from Middle Tennessee. I don't know if he was in the orginal settlement discribed herein. I am trying to determine where in Tennessee these settlers came from. You also indicate that you are unaware of the McKee starting location . Our
ancestors might have been neighbors in Tennessee and/or Virginia or fellow travellers to Texas. If you come accross anything in Tennessee-let me know. I too will drop you an email if I find anything.
