Hi Laura,
Do you know anything more of your McKee's.

I have g.gr.parents named Joseph Hamilton Wood (sometimes Woods) and Lucy Emma McKee. They are on the 1910 Shelby Co. (Memphis) TN census with 2 children born in Miss. His mother is also on there named Sallie ? Wood, b. c1845 in NC, her parents also b. NC, I am wondering if she might have been a McKee or possibly a Hamilton. I know you are prob. thinking, why doesn't she look on the further back census records, I have and can't find them. It doesn't help that a lot of them used initials back then too........
I know Joseph was born in Miss., poss. in Montgomery Co., 1876. Family says Lucy was also born in Miss. yet census records say Tenn. for both of them, duhhhhh, I hate it when it does that.
Her parents are suppose to have been an Andy (prob. Andrew) McKee, should have been born abt. 1850-1860, I would think, in Miss. and mother, Georgia A. Jones, b. c1864, census says Tenn.

What I find interesting is you have a Hamilton J. McKee and I am now thinking that my Wood and McKee's may go further back together and possibly join up with the Hamilton's back there. I keep finding the name Hamilton in some Wood/Woods and McKee's of Miss.
I sure could use an opinion on all of this.....thanks, Kaye Hill Woods.
PS, to further complicate things, my husb.'s side is Woods and also comes from mid Miss. and I can't find anything on them either...........what a mess.
