Hi Maryan,
Isn't this fun? I feel so "close" to you! Anna's father was William Bergstrasse McKee, born May 22, 1829 in Boalsberg, Pa. He was one of the first white missionaries to the Ojibiwa Indians at Bayfield, Wis in 1858. I have an Ojibiwa Bible, written in their langauge that Mother always said was very valuable. I've since found out that is not true, but it still means alot to me.
William B's father was also William, born in 1794 in Logans Gap, PA, a brother to your Hugh.
We're almost kissin' cousins!
Do you have any more info. on the origins of William and Sarah Jane Taylor? I have that he was born between 1740 and 1745 and that he died in the War of 1812. He was born in Cookstown, Ireland. I'm interested in that connection, since we are going to Ireland this summer, but not to Northern Ireland.
I've tried finding out more about Sarah Jane, but have hit a blank wall.
Let me know if you have any more information.
Are you from the PA area? I'm from MI. Interesting to see where family members end up.
