Since receiving your note, and writing to you, I found a bit more about my immediate family from a distant cousin which may be of interest to you.
My GGGG Grandfather was Hugh McKean who moved from Eastern Pennsylvania with sons William (1762-1846), Thomas and Robert to a tract of land at McKean Landing on the Allegheny River which encompassed the Reeds Blockkhouse (an early fortifacation against Indian attacks). I haven't yet found anything about Hugh other than a vague thought by the family that he was Hugh, son of Samuel and Agnes of the Emigration of 1718 as charted on page 3 of Cornelius McKean's book. However, there was also a Hugh in York, Pa at about the same time as the imigration of 1718. I need to check that out.
Is it possible that the Hugh in your family is Hugh Jr., a son of my GGGG Grandfather, and older brother of my GGG Grandfather William?
The photos are still in the camera, but I have not forgotten. PFM 2/28/02
