I was searching Monroe County, Missouri Deeds Volume A for my Burton line and came upon the Last Will and Testament of John McKamey on page 301. The Will is quite detailed (lots of property is allocated) and I thought what an unusual place for a will; someone should have this information.

John McKamey is 65 years old in 1833; wife: Margaret
(Margaret Adams married John Mckamey on 29 Nov 1808 in Mercer County, Kentucky)
Children: Robert McKamey, Nancy Ricumbaugh, sister to Robert and half sister to David (married Jacob Rickenbaugh on 04 Dec 1822 in Mercer County, Kentucky), Elizabeth Runkle (married William Runkle on 19 Dec 1831 in Monroe County, Missouri), Rosannah Smith (Rosey Ann Mckeammy married James H. Smith on 12 May 1831 in Monroe County, Missouri), Mary McKamey (Mary B. McKamey married Thomas S. Miller on 19 Sep 1833 in Monroe County, Missouri), and three younger children David, Thomas, and Joseph.

Information in parenthsis is given as a bonus and is not contained in the Will.

I hope that this information is of interest to you.

Scott Allison Burton
