Jewell,
If you're talking about the William McJunkin born Nov. 28, 1787, I can tell you a little about his lineage. His line, from him back, is as follows:
William McJunkin 1787-
Daniel McJunkin (1756-1825) and Jane Chesney (1763-1841)
Samuel McJunkin (1725-1808) and Ann Bogan
Robert McJunkin and Margaret Caldwell
Daniel served in the American Revolutionary War. He was in the battles at Cowpens and at King's Mountain. At the Battle of Fairforest, he was run through with a sword by a British officer. He later recovered from this wound but was placed on the invalid roll for the rest of the war. Daniel received a pension for his service.
This family resided in Cleveland Township, Greenville District (later county) SC.
Samuel McJunkin died in Christian County, Kentucky while moving to join his youngest son John in Indiana.
Samuel was a prisoner of of Lord Cornwallis at the time of the Battle of Cowpens.
There is a book about the Rev. War service of Major Joseph McJunkin (son of Samuel).
Daniel and Jane Chesney McJunkin are my 6th great-grandparents.
Hope this helps.
Ronnie
