Malcolm MCINTYRE - Scot POW - Battle of Dunbar 1650
Malcolm McIntyre as it is spelled in the very early records, was captured from the Battle of Dunbar in Scotland in Sept. 1650 by Cromwell's men.He was marched to the Durham Cathedral in England which was used a make-shift prison at the time and then these men were shipped off as indentured servants to various places like MA, ME, VA, West Indies etc.
Malcolm was in Lynn, MA and may have been employed at the Saugus Ironworks there in 1653.
By 1662 he was in Kittery, NH (now Maine),and later in Reading, NH where died in 1705.He was buried in North Reading, NH on Oct. 2, 1705.It is stated that he was a son of Pierce McIntyre, and that Malcolm's wife's name was Sarah.His sons are listed as John, Daniel and Malcolm.
His Probate recorded Oct. 2, 1705, Maine Probate Office 1/62:PO1.111.
