I am looking for any information on Alexander McIntosh ( sometimes Macintosh ) who married Elizabeth Stewart abt 1824 and had issue John b. 1825, Peter b. 1831, Henry b. 1832, Charles b. 1837, Elizabeth b. 1840 and Neil b. 1843. The Charles here mentioned in my g.g.g. grandfather who imigrated to the US in abt 1871. Alexanders father appears to have been John McIntosh, and inturn his father may have been Alexander. It is believed they were related to the McIntosh's ( somestimes MacThomas or Mackintosh ) family of Dalmunzie and later of Finegand. In this family there appears a pattern of a John Macintosh having Alexander who in turn had John and so on up until the late 17th century. From here there is a gap and the trail picks up again in the mid 1740's where an Alexander McIntosh married Grizel McNab and had a son Alexander. We next find two John McIntosh's ( fathers presumed or listed as Alexander ) appearing in the Old Parish records and I am trying to pin down which one is correct. The first John, b. Moulin Parish May 1764, married Isobel Cameron ( Camron ) in Feb 1784 and the second John married Isabel MacPherson. Either of these gentleman could have been Alexanders father. On the McIntosh-Cameron side it is shown that Isobel's parents were James Camron and Espeth Fergusson. They are shown to have had a son Alexander born 1788.Togethr they had 5 children of which is listed Alexander as the second son. On the John McIntosh-Macpherson line it appears they were married in Moulin Parish Perth in 1759 and also had a son Alexander. This Johns fathers appears to be yet another John McIntosh who was probabbly born abt. 1720-1740. Any information would be appreciated. Kenneth A McIntosh Notify Administrator about this message?
