Sir Robert (Rewi Rawhiti) Mcintosh
Hi
One of the great names in Anaesthesia (my own specialty) is that of Sir
Robert Macintosh, Professor at University of Oxford. It came as a great
surprise to learn not only that he was born at Timaru, New Zealand, but
his name was originally Rewi Rawhiti Macintosh. Born October 1897 he
changed his name in about 1927. This suggests he may have Ngai Tahu
ancestsry.
As a Ngai Tahu descendant myself, I am interested in researching his
life in New Zealand before moving to England. Does anybody have any
information on his family links ?
Best wishes
