Christopher was a descendant of Michael & Ann McIntire and probably the son of Christopher McIntire, Sr. Christopher and Eunice lived in downtown Wilmington and 2 children were born. In 1860, James was living outside Springfield, Illinois. He attended the Lincoln-Douglas debates, and was a huge follower of President Abraham Lincoln and all that he stood for. In 1864 he married Sarah C. Skinner, and they went West to Worth County, Missouri. George married widow Mary Ann Butcher, prior to 1860. He was living in Portsmouth, Norfolk County, Virginia at the time his son, Wellington, was born, in Jan 1860. His second son Harry was born in May, while he was recouperating from wounds near Petersburg, Virginia. George died of wounds later the same year, in another battle; 18 Sep 1862 in Sharpsburg, MD.
