HELP!!! My great-grandmother was Emily Laverne (Verna) McIntire. She married Henry Benton Collins, a widower, in Ritchie Co., West Virginia (formerly Virginia) on September 19, 1869. She was 18 years old. Her parents are listed as Charles and Eliza McIntire (This could be Charles and Elizabeth)and her birthplace as Harrison Co., WV (would have been VA).
Somewhere or the other, I found a Charles->Charles->Charles->Emily line. The only Charles and Eliza I can find in the 1860 census, however, are in Pennsylvania and they have no daughter.
I would like to track down this branch of my family - especially since I have developed a condition called Dupuytren's Contracture. The first question the physician asked was "Are you of Scottish descent?" There are a few things closely associated with this condition and one of them is Celtic - particularly Scottish - heritage.
