I am looking for any information regarding the McElwain/McIlwain family from Co Donegal.
My Great Grandmother was Esther McElwain and she was married to William Davenport. They lived at Tulnaree, Carnodonagh Co Donegal in Ireland. They had 11 children.
I can not find any information at all regarding a McElwain family from around the Carndonagh area of Donegal and my grandmother does not know my more apart from this.
I know that William Davenport came origninaly from Gleneely (a few miles outside Carndonagh). I think Esther (McElwain) Davenport died either in the late 1940's or early 1950's but nothing else.
If anyone thinks they may have some information it would be greatly appreciated.
