Dear Edwin or Nancy ? I studying your old message of three years ago. Believe you are vey accurate on the date of marriage of William and Anne Seawright in 1745. William Seawright was orginally married to Catherine Jackson (ex-Quaker?) and had a daughter named Esther born in 1743. I also believe Catherine Jackson Seawright died in 1743 from child birth delivery. William Seawright later re-marry to Anne Hamilton in 1745 and very strangely they had a daughter named Esther. There were two half sisters named Esther born perhap six or seven years apart.
Okay, getting to your question about William Seawright's parents. I have reason to believe ( not proven) William Seawright was the son of William and Esther (Thomson) Seawright. William and Ester first settled in lancaster county, Pa around 1735 to 1740. They later removed to Camdem, SC around 1735 + with their daughters Elizabeth, Margate and Esther. William Jr I believe was left at Lancaster, PA with his uncle Alexander with a medical problems. William jr would around about eleven years of age at the time. William and Esther later remove from Camden to St Matthews SC near his Brother-in-law Moses Thomson because of Indian problems at Candem, SC. I better stop for now and anxwers more question later. I hope I don't have to wait three years fo your reply.
Anne Hamilton Seawright, I believe very stronly was the sister of William Hamilton who was married to Jean Mcilwaive of Leacock township, lancaster PA. Yours truly, Jim
