I would like to connect to others that are researching
McIlwaine in County Antrim, Ireland. I am researching
James McIlwaine who married Agnes Giffen. This couple married in 1835 and had a large family there.Their children
were:William, Hugh, Sanuel,Samuel,John, Janet McIlwaine.
There wree intermariages with: Jackson and Boyd are the only ones that I am aware of at this time.
I noticed that the early McIlwaine name was McIlvaine esp.
on the IGI listings..the name seemed to evlove over time.
