Hi Again Cindy
Thanks for the information, I may have been more aware of the contents of the book than I thought through the other messages posted here. My McIlraith's seem to have been from a different strain than the decendants of Hugh and Jean. Perhaps they migrated from Scotland at a different time, because there is no reference to the name Michael anywhere in that particular lineage. Nor is there reference to a Daniel, who was Michael's son.
Daniel married Jane Robison and they had:
James 1822
William John 14 June 1824
Margaret 9 November 1828
Daniel 1833
Jane 1834
and Lavinia 1835.
This whole family then migrated to Australia and settled on the South coast of New South Wales.
I get the feeling that I just need one more name to be able to make the connection to the rest of the clan, but it is proving elusive, which makes it all the more interesting I suppose.
Once again, thanks for the correspondence and I look forward to hearing from you again.
Regards
Stuart
